Enhancing Security at Afreximbank African Trade Center with UVIS Technology

Earlier this year, the Managing Director of Apollo Africa Security Systems led a supervisory mission to the Afreximbank African Trade Center (AATC), Abuja, alongside engineering partners from SecureOne Amsterdam and FOA Associates.

The visit marked an important milestone in the ongoing installation of an Under Vehicle Inspection System (UVIS), a state-of-the-art technology designed to detect threats hidden beneath vehicles entering high-value facilities.

Why UVIS Matters at AATC

The African Trade Center is a flagship institution hosting diplomatic, trade, and financial delegations. Its role in supporting intra-African commerce makes security paramount. With the UVIS deployment, the AATC can:

  • Conduct rapid vehicle screenings without disrupting flow
  • Detect anomalies that manual inspections might miss
  • Strengthen its reputation as a safe and secure trade hub

Apollo’s Supervisory Role

Apollo’s team ensured that the installation followed global standards, while adapting to Nigeria’s unique environment. From calibration to operator training, Apollo worked closely with engineers to guarantee operational readiness.

Conclusion

The AATC Abuja UVIS project demonstrates Apollo’s capacity to blend international expertise with local delivery—building trust in Africa’s trade infrastructure.
